Nadja Higl wins Gold for Serbia




Serbian swimmer Nadja Higl has won the gold medal at the World Championships in Rome in the 200m breaststroke event. She finished the race in 2:21.62, thus setting the new European record. The silver went to Canadian Ana Mae Pierce, while the bronze ended up with Austrian Mirna Jukic. The agencies report that the gold medal won by the young swimmer from Pancevo represents one of the biggest surprises of the championships in Rome.
